Brick red painted box with skillfully done red and black strip- ing with well executed initials in yellow and black. Rounded off corners to both the lid and the box. Exterior paint with great patina and crazing, the interior painted gray with original hinges, missing interior hasp. Found in Bucks County Pa.

Hand crafted back when time was not an issue. Very unique box, c, 1875 found near the Delaware coast and possibly sailor made for a loved one. Made of literally hundreds of pieces of many types of wood with a wonderful star inlay to the underside of the lid. Mellow old finish, great condition, 11” x 7.5” x 9”. $ 325
