Circa, 1900 Seth Thomas Litchfield model, 30 day. A very distinctive case in mahogany with cleaned original finish of good color. Substantial high Quality works with deadbeat escapement and maintaining power. Excellent original dial framed with a brass spinning. Professionally re-gilded original door glass with black backing on the bottom and an oval opening, showing the fine brass pendulum and beat scale. This clock keeps great time over it’s 30 day run and has a charming sound. It was a very expensive clock when new and is very hard to find today. 31.5 x 16.5 x 5.5.

This is a very high quality clock that was used in train stations, banks and other places where precise time keeping was required. Circa, 1850 Birge & Peck, 8 day time & strike, Bristol Conn. Very elegant case of book matched mahogany veneer in a mellow finish with excellent reverse painted glass. The top tablet is of the McLean Asylum in Somerville, Mass. and the bottom a see thru design with the pendulum bob framed in gold. Full length label inside with an illustration of Puffin Billy, one of the first steam locomotives in the country. Very nice original dial with a cutout to view the works. 32.5” x 19” x 5”. $1450
Circa, 1835 Hotchkiss & Fields, 30 hour wooden works time and strike, Burlington, Conn. Vibrant original reverse painted glass with a bowl of fruit and the maker’s name in gold at the bottom. Fine original painted dial and label. Wonderful case of mahogany that is an early ogee style being banded on the edge and tapering inward but not curved as on later clocks. 26” x 15.5” x 4.5”. $1250
